Come Together Right Now For The Shul!

This song parody was inspired by the (very weird and trippy) Beatles song, "Come Together". Enjoy!
(Hint - in order to sing this one, don't try to pronounce things with correct syllable emphasis. Just try to fit them to the beat of the song. It fits perfectly.)

She does the Kiddush
She does all the set up
She organizes siddurs
She one holy roller
She’s deserving honoree
Got to put an ad in
for your friend Sara Shatz.

She organizes
most of the shul events
like FNLL meals
with the coca cola
She says I don't know you, My name’s Riva
One thing I can tell you is she's super friendly.
Come together right now for the shul!

She bakes the challah
for “just dough it” event
She runs days of chessed
She helps the JCC
She does much chessed in WaHi
Put an ad in the journal for Debbie Ciner.
Come together right now for the shul!

Ads!
Come on come on come on

He was the Pres and
She makes meals for moms and
He’s a great fundraiser
She ran singles events**
He ran the Chanukat Habayit
They have such good looking kids
Isaac and Talia
Come together right now for the shul!

Ads!
Come together
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in
Yeah Put an ad in

A Whole New Shul

This song is inspired by Alan Menkin and Tim Rice, and is dedicated to Robin Williams...who I'd like to think would have loved our Shul ;)

I can show you a shul
Shiny and renovated
Tell me people, now when did you last
Walk safely downstairs?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Show you all that's been done here
In the shul these past few years

A whole new shul
A new fantastic place to be
Our home away from home
Our place to go
For friendships and community

A whole new shul
A dazzling place you always knew
And now from over here
It's crystal clear
That now we have a whole new shul for you
(Now we have a whole new shul for you...)

Unbelievable times
Indescribable feelings
Learning, chessed, and onegs
Oh that Jenga tower fell

A whole new shul
(Don't you dare hit delete)
A hundred thousand new members
(Keep reading - it gets better)
Scholars-in-Residence
Yom Tov events
Friday Night Lights, Kiddush, Panoply...

A whole new shul
(Every turn a surprise)
With new horizons to pursue
(Every moment gets better)
So won't you come and see

On the 14th
Let us share this whole new shul with you

A whole new shul
A whole new shul

That's where we'll be
That's where we'll be

A thrilling space
A wonderous place
For you and me

This One's For The Shul

This One's For The Shul
(With a little help from Martina McBride - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MJwdY6Y0Hw )

This is for all who daven at Mount Sinai,
In little apartments, just trying to get by,
Livin' on, on dreams and some Kiddush food,
Wonderin' where your shul's life's gonna go,
This one's for the shul!

This is for those in shul who give of their time.
Helping can be tough and hard sometimes.
There's much to do to make the shul so great.
Thank you for the sacrifices that you make.

This one's for the shul,
Who has so many broken parts,
Accepts you for who you are,
For everyone near and far,
This one's for the shul,
Where everybody knows your name,
And everyone's glad you came.
All around the Heights,
This one's for the shul!
(This one's to help the shul)

This is for those in shul who are not members yet.
Mount Sinai does so much as you can bet.
Every day the shul is growing more.
Join the shul and it could all be yours!

This one's for the shul,
Who has so many broken parts,
Accepts you for who you are,
For everyone near and far,
This one's for the shul,
Where everybody knows your name,
And everyone's glad you came.
All around the Heights,
This one's for the shul!

Yeah, the shul needs your help this time (needs your help this time)
Don't miss Friday's ad deadline!

This one's for the shul,
Who has so many broken parts,
Accepts you for who you are,
For everyone near and far,
This one's for the shul,
Where everybody knows your name,
And everyone's glad you came.
All around the Heights,
This one's for the shul!
(This one's to help the shul)
Yeah, This one's for the shul!
(This one's to help the shul)

Hey! I just met you...and there's a kiddush!

This song is inspired by Carly Rae Jepsen (and a little bit by Cookie Monster). Enjoy!

I went to school all my life
Don't ask me how I survived
I'm done and I'm still alive
And now I graduate

I trade my cash for cholent
Pennies and dimes to have meat
I wasn't looking for cheap
b/c I graduate(d)

Cholent will be flowing
While our hunger's growing
And the wind is blowing...?
We'll start this kiddush going, baby!

Hey, I just met you
and this is crazy
But there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!
It's hard to fundraise
So please have pity
And there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!

Hey, I just met you
and this is crazy
But there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!
Are you graduating
Congratulations!
This week's a kiddush
So sponsor today!

Don't take your time. Make the call.
For cholent for one and all.
Please give us something at all
So we can have some meat

Kiddush this coming Shabbat
You want the food to be hot
We'll all be sad if it's not
Because we want the meat

Cholent will be flowing
While our hunger's growing
And the wind is blowing...?
We'll start this kiddush going, baby!

Hey, I just met you
and this is crazy
But there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!
It's hard to fundraise
So please have pity
And there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!

Hey, I just met you
and this is crazy
But there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!
Are you graduating
Congratulations!
This week's a kiddush
So sponsor today!

Before you came into the shul,
We had no money.
We miss it so bad.
We miss it so so bad.

Please donate to the shul
So we have money.
And you should know that
We miss it so so bad
(bad bad bad bad bad bad...)

It's hard to fundraise
So please have pity
And there's a kiddush
So sponsor today!

~ Just to clarify, this Shabbat is our annual "Graduates Kiddush". If you or someone you know graduated from anything, please consider honoring them by sponsoring this week's kiddush.

~ This song is dedicated to Carly Rae Jepsen and Cookie Monster. (Definitely check out the video on Youtube of Cookie Monster singing his version of this song!)
~ If you would like to sponsor the kiddush, please go to www.mtsinaishul.com and click on "Donate" in the top right corner. Or mail a check to the shul (made out to Mount Sinai Jewish Center, and mail to 135 Bennett Ave, NYC, 10040). Either way, write in the memo that it's for the May 4 kiddush.

It's the Cholent I want!

This month's song was inspired by Grease. Enjoy!

I got cash.
It's multiplyin'
But we need much more dough
Cuz the cholent
You're supplyin
It tastes like fryin!

You better pay up
Cuz we need the cash
And the warmer's set on "hot"
You better pay up
You better understand

Food food food

The cholent I want
(You know what I want)
Food food food

Oh yes indeed

carnivation*
you're too shy
to be announced,
You can still
be a sponsor
Anonymously

You better pay up
Cuz we need the cash
(we need the caaaash)
It can keep us satisfied
You better pay up
If we're gonna prove
(you better prove)
that kiddush is justified

Will you pay?
Please pay on the new website**

*I made up a word. Sha'as had'chak. I did what I had to do.
**Shout out to the new shul website - www.mtsinaishul.com - and all the people who worked so hard to make it. (Thank you!) Check it out...and use it to sponsor kiddush :)

~ This will be the last kiddush for this year. The next Shul kiddush will be Simchat Torah. Any kiddushim the rest of the summer would be in honor of someone's simcha.
~ This song was inspired by Grease's "You're the One That I Want"
~ If you knew how much more money we needed to get to a hot kiddush, would you sponsor? Check here - http://bit.ly/v3uEOu to see what we're up to and how you can help us reach a full hot kiddush.

Goin' to the Kiddush

This song was inspired by The Dixie Cups' famous 1964 hit, "Goin to the Chapel"

Goin' to the kiddush and we're
gonna eat cholent
Goin' to the kiddush and we're
gonna eat cookies
Gee I really love meat and we're
gonna eat fruit and cake
Goin' to the shul for kiddush.

Shabbos is here
The sky is blue (hopefully)
The chazzan will sing
as if he knew
Saturday's the day
for cake and cholent too
and we'll never be hungry anymore.

Because we're
Goin' to the kiddush and we're
gonna eat cholent
Goin' to the kiddush and we're
gonna eat cookies
Gee I really love meat and we're
gonna eat fruit and cake
Goin' to the shul for kiddush.

Tzibbur will sing
The sun will shine (hopefully)
I'll have cake, cookies and wine.
We'll eat until
the end of time
and we'll never be hungry anymore.

Because we're
Goin' to the kiddush and we're
gonna eat cholent
Goin' to the kiddush and we're
gonna eat cookies
Gee I really love meat and we're
gonna eat fruit and cake
Goin' to the shul for kiddush.
