One Day....one day....one day....

Sometimes I sit
Inside the shul
And thank God I'm eating

And I pray
Don't clear the food
Cuz I want more cholent

Sometimes in my shnops I drown
So that nothing ever gets me down
And so many ppl do surround
And then I can not turn around and

All shabbat I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For a hot bowl of cholent

And I don't wanna shove no one
That is never fun
For my hot bowl of cholent

One day....I pray...one day...

Its not about win or lose
Cuz we all lose when we feed on
Donuts or ice cream
When ppl don't donate
There's no money
To buy any hot food.

In this crowd you can lose your way (your way)
It might drive you crazy so donate your money today, today.

Sometimes in my shnops I drown
So that nothing ever gets me down
And so many ppl do surround
And then I can not turn around and

All shabbat I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For a hot bowl of cholent

And I don't wanna shove no one
That is never fun
For my hot bowl of cholent

One day....I pray...one day...

One day this all will change

People will donate

To Stop with the milchigs

Down with donuts

One day we will partake

Of kugel and cake

in the new social hall

Singing songs of kiddush

Like

wine-ooo Wine-o yo yo yo yo

One day.....donate....one day....

wine-o yo yo yo

All shabbat I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
For a hot bowl of cholent

And I don't wanna shove no one
That is never fun
For my hot bowl of cholent

One day....please pay...today...

This song was inspired by the Maccabeats. (ok...and Mattisyahu) They actually came out with is about a year ago.

For your general Kiddush knowlege

Here are some fun facts about the Mount Sinai kiddush:
(by fun, I mean boring, but people are always asking)

  • A regular hot kiddush costs about $800, including hot food, key food (cakes and fruit and cookies and drinks) and liquor. If we get more, obviously we can get more food - like atypical chicken nuggets or something.
  • If we guaranteed have $500 by Wednesday before kiddush, we order hot food for sure and hope we make up the lacking $300.
  • If we have between $300 and $500 by that Wednesday, we try to make the best decision we can and hope to get the least complaints.
  • If we don't have $300-$500 by that Wednesday, no hot food. Pareve kiddush.
  • If we get $400 from one person or group, that person or group can have a say - within reason - of what goes into the kiddush.
  • In general, we ask for a minimum of $36 for a regular donation. Anything under $36 will not be listed or announced.
  • If you would like a kiddush on a non-shabbat mevarchim weekend, we can discuss that but you are totally responsible for funding that.
  • It takes Arona about 10 minutes to write a song once she finds one that works. It takes her a lot longer to write a poem - like this one -

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Cholent!

Sponsor the Mount Sinai Kiddush!

Wuhoo! We did it! We raised the funds!
Thanx so much to everyone.

Since we have enough, there's more we can do.
With all the money we got, the can be more hot food for you,

Like chicken nuggets or mini hot dogs
or kishka or liver or legs of frogs
(ok I couldn't think of anything else...sorry)

Since we're over $1000, we'll have extra cash
So the next time there's no money, we can rely on this stash.

Keep the money coming from near and from far.**
I'm looking forward to kiddush for Shabbat Mevarchim Adar

(AA, this poem was for you)

**Or you are welcome to sponsor this week's New to the Heights oneg, the Eruv, the Kesher, or Seudah Shlishit. But you did not hear that from me.
