(by fun, I mean boring, but people are always asking)
- A regular hot kiddush costs about $800, including hot food, key food (cakes and fruit and cookies and drinks) and liquor. If we get more, obviously we can get more food - like atypical chicken nuggets or something.
- If we guaranteed have $500 by Wednesday before kiddush, we order hot food for sure and hope we make up the lacking $300.
- If we have between $300 and $500 by that Wednesday, we try to make the best decision we can and hope to get the least complaints.
- If we don't have $300-$500 by that Wednesday, no hot food. Pareve kiddush.
- If we get $400 from one person or group, that person or group can have a say - within reason - of what goes into the kiddush.
- In general, we ask for a minimum of $36 for a regular donation. Anything under $36 will not be listed or announced.
- If you would like a kiddush on a non-shabbat mevarchim weekend, we can discuss that but you are totally responsible for funding that.
- It takes Arona about 10 minutes to write a song once she finds one that works. It takes her a lot longer to write a poem - like this one -
